I decided to try and print one of the best pictures I have taken. I have had some previous experience with prints, but never in big dimensions. When printing it is very important to make some adjustments to the picture. Sharpening and lighting more can really make a big difference in the final result. These adjustments are especially necessary when printing in big scales. This is the final image I printed in 16×24 inches.
These are some of the last pictures I have taken. This shot was originally focused on a project for a hairstyles ad, but since I already had the models and I spent a lot of time doing their makeup and hair, I decided to take more pictures. I found this contest in which the only theme was Christmas and they really gave you the opportunity of taking any kind of pictures related to it. I decided to dedicate some time in photoshop and make some adjustments to the pictures so they would look more Christmasy. I changed the color of her sweater, eyes, lipstick, and background so it would better match the theme. These subtle adjustments really made the difference and I am very happy with the final result.

I loved this picture because of the concept it has. When I first took the shot it was not as interesting as it became when I added that light coming from the book. I used a Speedlight to get that light in her face, but it looks as if it was coming from the book. It just looks so real and at the same time so interesting. I loved how she is dressing in some more modern clothes and then her setting is old fashioned. I feel it can also mean that when you read you can be transported to other places. The versatility that this picture can have is just amazing, it is creative, it can be used for an advertisement, and it also is just a beautiful portrait.
The same happened to me with this picture when I first took it. It seemed just a little boring, but then just by adding some minor effects in Photoshop it really changed. I took it as a RAW file so it preserves most of the information from the camera, such as sharpness, small details, and contrast. If I had not taken the shot like this, I would not have been able to get so much detail in the darker parts of the image.
The natural lighting when I took this picture was just picture. For this shot, I almost did not change anything in post-production. I had to move some things and arrange the shot to get this beautiful composition. I also think that the white space in the bottom part of the picture looks great and the background also helps create a unique atmosphere around the main subjects.
This portrait was also one of my favorites. She is straight looking at the camera, but at the same time, it all looks so natural. I also enhanced some light illuminations on the blackboard which lead to the phocal point which is her face.
To get this creative portrait, it actually took two different shots. One was her as the main subject, and the other one was just the background. I also had to use a tripod to make sure I would get the same shot. The amazing concept this picture has makes it even more interesting to look at.
This photobook is a compilation of some of my best photography work up until this point. Making it was a complex process in which I was able to discover and increase some of my design and creative abilities. Taking the pictures was just the beginning for me. I first had to learn how to use a professional camera. Using the settings was a little more complicated than what I expected it would be, but as I kept practicing I became better at using them.
Learning about lighting and how to balance it was another interesting part of the process. I acquire a lot of new knowledge in many areas, but post-production was one of my favorites. Using Photoshop, Lightroom and Bridge gave me excellent experience. I was able to experiment with new ideas on these programs. Putting the entire book together was also a long process, but I was very satisfied with the final outcome. Typography, spacing and technical details became big things for me. I believe that this experience definitely made me a better and more experienced designer.
For all these pictures I used a Canon T5i EOS Rebel Camera with an 18-135 mm lens. I used the manual mode and a 10x macro filter. I wanted to capture different everyday textures from objects. I also had to use some LED lights for each shot. Learning how to take macro pictures was an interesting process. I had to use my zoom in more than 80 mm all the time and I learned how to move my body to get a good focus on the subject.
All of this pictures tell a story. I found them very interesting and after some editing I thing they all turned out great.
I loved all this portraits I took at Bannack. They all have different types of lighting and people which makes every one of them unique.

Bannack Ghost Town was certainly a great place to get creative. I took a lot of shots with different concepts, but for this post, I am only going to show 6 of the best.
This picture was the result of blending in two pictures which I am also posting above.
I really liked how this picture turned out. I had the idea, but I wasn’t sure if it would look good. I also added some extra effects in Photoshop to make it look more real and scary. I saw some pictures form ghosts and they usually have this old and grainy effect which I wanted to give to my shot.
I loved this shot because of all the different textures are in it. The lighting was also very interesting. When I look at this picture I think of how many directions and decisions you can take, but they all started with a person walking through this hallway.
For this topic, I just loved two of the pictures I look. The first one is a girl who can get transported to other places when she reads. It could also classify as commercial in a way, for a library or a bookstore. The lighting and setting were perfect.
I wanted this other picture of a Native American girl to represent an actual problem in the country. These people’s land was taken from her and they are now being put in reserves and sometimes even kept quiet. This is not the only community to which this has happened, this is a serious problem with different ethnicities all around the world.
To get this shot I had to take a bunch of them before I got one I liked. I liked the contrast between the wood of the wall and the phone. I also wanted that floating effect, which required a high shutter speed.
These five pictures have the same theme and were all taken at Bannack, Montana. I thought this rusty pickaxe had a lot to say, so I decided to capture it from different perspectives.
